4. Explanation of Columns (Section IV)

a. National Stock Number (NSN) Index.

(1) St ock Number Column. This column lis ts the NSN by Nat ional it em ident ific at ion number (NI IN)

s equence. The NI IN c ons ists of t he last nine digits of t he NSN. W hen us ing t his colum n t o locate an it em,

ignore the first four digits of t he NSN. W hen requisitioning it ems us e t he c omplet e NSN (13 digits ).
