2-4. General

Preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS) are scheduled maintenance performed to ensure that the Radio

Set is ready for operation at all times. Inspect the Radio Set regularly and carefully, using the procedures in Table 2-2,

so that you can find any defects and have them corrected.

Tightening, cleaning, and routine operator maintenance should be performed on an as-needed basis even though it is not

a. Before You Operate. Always perform your before (B) PMCS.

b. While You Operate. Always perform your during (D) PMCS.

c. After You Operate. Be sure to perform your after (A) PMCS.

d. If Your Radio Set Fails To Operate. Note the failure symptoms, then refer to Chapter 3.

deficiencies using the proper forms. See DA Pam 738-750.
