Tools: Cross  tip  screwdriver Torque   screwdriver Flat  tip  screwdriver Soldering  kit Expendable  Supplies: Cotton  swabs Solder Alcohol References: Paragraph  4-19  for  removal  and  installation  of  access  cover. ITEM ACTION REMARKS REMOVAL a.  Mounting  adapter Set  on  work  surface  with  right  side toward  you. b.   Access   cover   (2) Remove. c.   Wires Using  soldering  kit,  tag  and  desolder wires  from  defective  resistor  R1  (10). d.  Resistor  R1  (10) Using  cross  tip  screwdriver,  remove  and retain  two  screws  (11)  and  Iockwashers (12)  securing  defective  resistor  to  audio amplifier  chassis  (5).  Remove  and  discard defective  resistor  R1. INSTALLATION e.  Resistor  R1  (10) Position  replacement  resistor  to  audio amplifier  chassis  (5).  Using  cross  tip screwdriver,  install  two  retained  screws (11)  and  Iockwashers  (12)  securing replacement  resistor  R1  to  audio  amplifier chassis   (5). f.   Wires Using  soldering  kit,  solder  tagged  wires to  correct  leads  of  resistor  R1.  Remove wire  tags. g. Access  cover  (2) Install. See  figure  4-5.  Refer  to paragraph  4-19  for  access cover   removal   procedures. See  figure  4-8. These  were  removed  in step  d. Before  and  after  soldering, clean  wires  and  leads  with alcohol  and  cotton  swabs. See  figure  4-5.  This  was removed  in  step  b. Refer  to  paragraph  4-19  for access  cover  installation procedures. 4-111
