Section XXV. DVE HOOD CABLE GUIDE INSTALLATION
NOTE
Cover engine compartment prior to performing DVE installation
to keep metal and fiberglass filings out of engine compartment.
Once DVE installation is complete, Pan and Tilt Module (PTM)
mount may require adjustment to obtain optimum DVE
elevation-viewing angle. This adjustment is made by adding or
removing washers from PTM mounting bolt between HMMWV
windshields.
25-1. Remove six bolts (3), twelve washers (4), six nuts (7), and hood bracket (6) from hood (1).
25-2. Remove bracket (9) from top side of hood (1).
25-3. Drill out five rivets (8) from hood (1), rubber hood seal (5), and retaining strip (2).
25-4. Remove retaining strip (2) from hood (1).
25-5. Cut retaining strip (2). Discard cut portion of retaining strip (2).
25-6. Cut rubber hood seal (5). Discard cut portion of rubber hood seal (5).
