Section XXV. DCM ROOF MOUNTING ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION
25-1. Remove driver's sun visor, if applicable. (Refer to TM 9-2320-280-20-3.)
25-2. Remove foam insulation from mounting area on driver's ceiling (7).
25-3. Place DCM roof mount assembly (4) on driver's compartment ceiling (7) as far forward and to
driver's left as possible. Secure with vise grips or C-clamps.
25-4. Mark twelve hole locations (3).
25-5. Remove DCM roof mount assembly (4).
CAUTION
When drilling through Kevlar in NBC stowage compartment,
ensure holes are drilled cleanly. Kevlar is easily shredded and
destroyed when drilled.
25-6. Drill 0.290-inch holes in twelve marked locations (3).
NOTE
 DCM roof mount assembly has a backer plate for added roof
strength. DCM roof mount assembly backer plate is located in
driver's NBC stowage compartment.
Ensure DCM mount backer plate (2) can be aligned over
previously drilled holes (3). If DCM mount backer plate (2) doesn't
lay flat on ceiling (7), remove obstruction.
25-7. Position DCM roof mount assembly (4) on driver's ceiling (7). Install DCM roof mount assembly (4)
and backer plate (2) with twelve bolts (5), twenty-four washers (6) and twelve nuts (1).
25-8. Loosen four large hand knobs (8) on DCM roof mount assembly (4).
25-9. Insert DCM mount assembly (9) into roof mount assembly (4). Tighten four large hand knobs (8).
