Continued ITEM ACTION REMARKS REMOVAL a.   Eight   screws   (5)   and Use  cross  tip  screwdriver.  Remove  and Inspect  each  screw  and  its Iockwashers  (6) inspect  eight  screws  (5)  and  lockwash- threaded  screw  insert  (if ers  (6)  securing  access  cover  (1)  to present)  to  determine  if connector  case  (12).  If  damaged, any  is  defective.  If  a  screw obtain  replacement.  Lay  access  cover is  stripped,  do  not  replace to  one  side.  See  figure  16-3. its  threaded  screw  insert. If  the  holes  are  tapped, there  will  be  no  threaded screw  insert. b.   FL1   filter   (20)   and FL2  filter  (21)  top terminal c.   Three   screws   (25), Iockwashers  (24),  and flat  washers  (23) d.   Filter   mounting   plate   (22) e.   FL2   filter   (21)   bottom terminal f.   Hex   nut   (29)   and Iockwasher  (28) g.   FL2   filter   (21) INSTALLATION h.   FL2   filter   (21) i. Filter  mounting  plate  (22) j. Hex  nut  (29)  and Iockwasher  (28) k.   FL1   filter   (20)   and FL2  filter  (21)  terminals Use  soldering  kit.  Desolder  wire  from top  terminal  of  FL1  filter  (20)  and  FL2 filter   (21). Use  cross  tip  screwdriver.  Remove and  inspect  three  screws  (25), Iockwashers  (24),  and  flat  washers (23)  securing  filter  mounting  plate (22)  to  connector  case  (12).  If damaged,   obtain   replacement. Lift  filter  mounting  plate  (22)  to  allow  ac- cess  to  bottom  terminal  of  FL2  filter  (21). Use  soldering  kit.  Desolder  wire  from bottom  terminal  of  FL2  filter  (21). Use  3/8-inch  wrench.  Remove  and inspect  hex  nut  (29)  and  Iockwasher (28)  securing  FL2  filter  (21)  to  filter mounting  plate  (22).  If  damaged, obtain   replacement. Remove  and  discard  defective  FL2 filter   (21). Obtain  replacement  FL2  filter  (21). Install  FL2  filter  (21)  in  mounting hole  of  filter  mounting  plate  (22). Use  3/8-inch  wrench.  Install  and  hand tighten  hex  nut  (29)  and  Iockwasher (28)  securing  FL2  filter  (21)  to  filter mounting   plate   (22), Using  cotton  swabs  and  alcohol,  clean both  terminals  on  FL2  filter  (21)  and top  terminal  on  FL1  filter  (20). 16-15
