ITEM ACTION REMARKS REMOVAL a. Heat  sink  assembly  (2) Remove  and  retain  heat  sink  assembly Refer  to  paragraph  14-17 from  power  supply  adapter  chassis  (1). for  heat  sink  removal. See  figure  13-2. b. Power  supply  adapter chassis  (1) c. Connector  J1  (16) wires d. Hex nut e. Connector  J1  (16) and  Iockwasher INSTALLATION f. Connector  J1  (16) and  Iockwasher g. O-ring h.               Hex nut and Iockwasher i. Connector  J1  (16) wires j.                        Heat   sink assembly Set  upside  down  on  work  surface  with front  toward  you.  See  figure  13-6. Use  soldering  kit,  soldering  aid,  and heat  sink.  Tag  the  pin  location  of  all  wires soldered  to  rear  of  connector.  Unsolder each  wire  from  the  connector. Use  socket  wrench  and  1  1/16  inch  socket. Remove  and  inspect  hex  nut  securing connector  to  chassis.  If  damaged,  obtain replacement. Remove  and  discard  defective connector  and  Iockwasher. Obtain   replacement   connector and  Iockwasher. Apply  silicone  compound  to  o-ring  on replacement    connector. Use  socket  wrench  and  1  1/16  inch  socket. Install  and  hand  tighten  retained  hex  nut and  replacement  Iockwasher  securing connector  to  chassis.  Use  torque  wrench. Torque  to  70  in-lb. Use  soldering  kit,  soldering  aid,  and  heat Before  and  after  soldering, sink.  Solder  tagged  wires  to  pins  on  rear clean  wires  and  connector of  the  connector,  and  remove  wire  tags. pins  with  alcohol  and cotton  swabs. Install  retained  heat  sink  assembly  on Refer  to  paragraph  14-17 power  supply  adapter  chassis  (1). for  heat  sink  installation. 14-59
