Torque   screwdriver Flat  tip  screwdriver Cross  tip  screwdriver Soldering  kit Expendable  Supplies: Solder Alcohol Cotton  swabs References: Paragraph  4-52  for  removal  and  installation  of  access  cover. ITEM ACTION REMARKS REMOVAL a. b. Mounting  adapter Set  on  work  surface  with  right  side toward  you. Access  cover  (1) Remove  and  retain  access  cover  (1). c. d. Two  screws  (1),  lock- Using  cross  tip  screwdriver,  remove  and washers,  flat  washers, retain  two  screws  (1),  Iockwashers,  flat and  insulating  washers washers,  insulating  washers,  and  terminal lug  securing  transistor  Q1  (3)  to  audio amplifier  chassis  (2). Transistor  Q1  (3) Remove  and  discard  insulation  sleeving on  transistor  leads.  Using  soldering  kit, tag  and  desolder  wires  from  transistor leads.  Remove  and  discard  defective transistor  Q1  (3). Inspect  and  replace  as  required. e.   Mounting   pad   (4) INSTALLATION f. Mounting  pad  (4) g.   Transistor   Q1   (3) h. i. Install  replacement  mounting  pad  (4)  on bottom  of  transistor  Q1  (3). Install  replacement  insulation  sleeving  on transistor  leads.  Using  soldering  kit,  solder tagged  wires  to  correct  leads  of  transistor Q1  (3).  Remove  wire  tags. Two  screws  (1),  lock- Using  cross  tip  screwdriver,  install  two washers,  flat  washers, retained  screws  (1),  Iockwashers,  flat and  insulating  washers washers,  insulating  washers,  and  terminal lug  securing  transistor  Q1  (3)  to  audio amplifier  chassis  (2). See  figure  4-14.  Refer  to paragraph  4-52  for  access cover   removal   procedures. See  figure  4-15. This  was  removed  in step  e. These  were  removed  in step  d. Before  and  after  soldering, clean  wires  and  leads  with alcohol  and  cotton  swabs. These  were  removed  in step  c. Access  cover  (1) Install. See  figure  4-14. These  were  removed  in step  b.  Refer  to  paragraph 4-52  for  access  cover installation   procedures. 4-160
