Frequency: 15.412 15.688 GHz
landing strip. It transmits glideslope, centerline deviation, range and height
information to approaching aircraft. The system utilizes several antennas; a
Power:
2.0 kW PEP
pillbox-parabolic reflector (localizer); a pillbox-parabolic reflector
3.3 W av (localizer)
(glidescope); and a flared horn antenna (DME).
1.1 W av (glidescope)
3.3 W av (DME)
HAZARD CONTROLS (to reduce or eliminate risk)
SYSTEM HAZARDS
Power Density Levels (PDL) ....
This system is able to produce potentially hazardous PDLs in excess of the safety
standard.  Establish a Nonionizing Radiation Protection Program (IAW guidelines
provided in this TB) .
Hazard distance from antenna ....
In the nonscanning mode, exclude personnel from within 1.5 m of the localizer antenna.
In the nonscanning mode, exclude personnel from within 0.5 m of the glidescope
antenna. In the nonscanning mode, exclude personnel from within 0.3 m of the DME
antenna.
