INSTALLATION

Set upside down on work surface with
left side toward you. See figure 15-4.
Use flat tip screwdriver. Fully loosen
and inspect eight captive screws and
flat washers securing mounting plate
assembly (2) to battery tray subas-
sembly (1).
Remove and retain.
Remove and retain.
Remove and discard.
Obtain and install replacement battery
tray gasket on mounting plate assembly.
Position on battery tray subassembly (1).
Use torque screwdriver and flat tip adapt-
er. Install eight captive screws and flat
washers securing retained mounting plate
assembly (2) to retained battery tray sub-
assembly (1). Torque screws to 9 in-lb.
Inspect each screw and its
threaded screw insert to
determine if any is defec-
tive. If a screw is not
stripped but will not tighten,
refer to paragraph 15-35
for removal and replace-
ment of threaded screw
inserts.
