Diode  (3),  flat  washer, and  Iockwasher h. Diode  (3)  wires i. Rear  access  cover screws  (3) 14-44 Set  on  work  surface  with  rear  toward you.  See  figure  14-4. Use  flat  tip  screwdriver.  Fully  loosen  and inspect  for  damage.  If  damaged, obtain   replacement. Remove  from  chassis  to  allow  access  to CR1  diode  (3),  and  retain.  See  figure  14-5. Use  soldering  kit,  soldering  aid,  and  heat sink.  Tag  the  location  of  all  wires  on  defective diode.  Unsolder  each  wire  from  the  diode. Use  adjustable  wrench.  Remove  the diode,  flat  washer,  and  Iockwasher from  the  power  supply  adapter  chassis. Retain  the  flat  washer  and  discard  the defective  diode  and  Iockwasher. Obtain  replacement  diode  and Iockwasher. Use  adjustable  wrench.  Install  and  hand tighten   replacement   diode,   Iockwasher, and  retained  flat  washer  on  power  supply adapter  chassis. Use  soldering  kit,  soldering  aid, Before  and  after  soldering, and  heat  sink.  Solder  tagged  wires clean  wires  and  diode to  correct  terminals  on  diode,  and terminals  with  alcohol  and remove  wire  tags. cotton  swabs. Position  retained  rear  access  cover on  the  power  supply  adapter  chassis. Use  flat  tip  screwdriver.  Install  and  hand tighten  the  12  captive  screws  securing the  rear  access  cover  to  the  power supply  adapter  chassis.  Use  torque screwdriver.  Torque  to  9  in-lb. j. 12   captive
