NOTE
Spacers are installed between control box and tunnel floor and
only on front two mounting holes of control box, where tunnel
insulation has been cut.
Install spacer between right front mounting holes first.
Do not tighten screws until all hardware has been installed.
21-2. Install MTS control unit (3) on tunnel floor (10) with spacer (5), three lockwashers (12), washers (11),
and capscrews (13).
21-3. Locate, mark, and drill 0.147-in. diameter hole (9) in tunnel floor (10).
21-4. Remove paint from vicinity of hole (9) in tunnel floor (10) and from corner (4) of control box (3).
Apply antiseize compound as required.
21-5. Fabricate ground strap (8) from 4-in. length of braided wire and two terminal lugs.
21-6. Install ground strap (8) on tunnel floor (10) with lockwasher (7) and self-tapping screw (6).
21-7. Install ground strap (8) on MTS control box (3) with lockwasher (12), washer (11), and
capscrew (13). Then mount control box (3) to tunnel floor (10) with spacer (5).
21-8. Tighten all screws (6) and (13).
