SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The AM-7189/ARC is an aircraft-mounted RF power amplifier. It utilizes an inverted
Frequency : 30 80 MHz
L antenna mounted above the cabin of the aircraft.
Power: 6 25 W; PEP 40 W
HAZARD CONTROLS (to reduce or eliminate risk)
SYSTEM HAZARDS
Power Density Levels (PDL) ....
This system is able to produce potentially hazardous PDLs in excess of the safety
standard. Establish a Nonionizing Radiation Protection Program (IAW guidelines
provided in this TB) .
Hazard distance from antenna ....
Exclude personnel to a distance of 2 m from the antenna. During normal operation of
this system, personnel are not subjected to a radiation hazard due to the use and location
of the antenna.
RF shock/burn .....................
Observe RF shock precautions. Do not touch antenna when energized.
